Saddle valves are devices that allow for a very fast, cheap, do-it-yourself installation of a ¼” water supply line, typically used to supply water to ice makers. They are installed by tightening a metal clamp into an existing water pipe, piercing down a "needle" to create a waterflow. The needle the saddle valve tends to rust, resulting in a clog.
